The article "Unexpected findings of lead exposure may lead to treating blindness" is a very intersting article. In the article it explains that lead can transform human embryonic retinal stem cells into neurons that would be transplanted into patients with retinal degenerations. Donald A. Fox and his crew at the University of Houston have been studying this case for some time now. They have experimented with this lead experiment to mice. Each mose showed an increase in cellular composition in the retina and the retina contained more cells than expected. Maybe these scientist are actually putting our taxes to good use!
In my opinion this article was very interesting. It was full of information and i couldnt seem to stop reading it. In the past current events I have talked about different experiments that scientists around the world have been performing. Most of them have been almost worthless to todays society but not this one. If this experiment actually works, than we really have a break through in medical society. If blindness can be cured, what else can we cure?
