How does the neuron function in human anatomy?
Neurons are cells in the nervous system that are specialized in the transmission of electric signals between cells of the nervous system. They are different cells from other cells of the nervous system which are neuroglial cells. They have supporting functions to neurons like the cells astrocytes which help to form the blood-brain barrier. Damage of the nervous system can be very harmful and hard to reverse.
I found this article very confusing and I barely understood what exactly the were talking about. but the neurons sense pain and changes in temperature and that what makes the cells different from nuroglial cells.
