Nina Edwards http://www.biologynews.net/archives/2010/09/17/why_the_craving_for_cocaine_wont_go_away.html

Why the craving for cocaine won't go away?

People that has used cocaine have a great risk of becoming addicted, Evan after long drug-free periods. Colleagues point to a specific molecule in the brain that targets treatment to prevent relapses. Drugs are addictive because they "hijack" the brain's reward system. The "hijacking" is long-lived and often leads to relapses into abuse when the individual is exposed to. The part of the brain called , striatum, plays a major role in relapse.

MY OPIONON : " I agree with the statement that drugs are very addicted ,and that it hijack the brains and mess with the mind. Drugs cause people to relapses. Cocaine can mess up the system of the body

Chemists Devise Self-Assembling 'Organic Wires'

Scientists have created a pacemaker made of carbon-based compounds. These wires are softer than the original metal ones and are ultimatley more comfortable for the patient recieving one. They are also smaller, which makes them easier to adapt to.

I think this is a great invention because the original pacemakers that were placed in people seemed uncomfortable. My grandfather had to get a valve replaced in his heart some time ago and I was told that it was made from porceiln. When I would listen to his heartbeat it sounded as thought there was a clock in his chest, ticking. I think if scientists can come up with this alternative for the metal wires, they should now try and work on finding new materials to use that would help people who have to get parts of thier hearts replaced. Otherwise, this was quite an interesting article.

In the article " Men with bladder exstrophy report robust sex lives, but women fare worse, Hopkins study shows", it explains that men have more robust sex lives than women if their bladder is formed on the outside of their abdomen. This is called bladder extrophy and requires surgeries from when the patient is born. Two thirds of women with this condition report to be dissatisfied with their sex lives. However, only thirty six percent of men are not moderately or very satisfied. Falling of the uterus, which is called prolapse, is a common complication during surgery to cure this condition.
In my opinion this article was very intersesting. I would have never guessed that men with bladder exstrophy have more robust sex lives than women would with the same condition. In this article it explains that men will have more robust sex lives if the bladder is formed on the outside of the abdomen. I wonder how they proved that and i also wonder why that is. With modern day technology there is so much to be explored!

This article talks about how women who are living with HIV can take treatment to help protect their baby from getting HIV. Five years ago there was a therapy that women could get to help the transmission, but most women don't even know that they are living with HIV. Even though this is a new drug, only 15% of women can actually recieve this drug. Each country is trying harder and harder to help the women who are living with HIV. In some countries over 80% of women have been helped to fight from giving this to the unborn child.

My opinion on this article that it is a great way to help mother's and their babies. I think that a baby should get the same chance to have a healthy lifestyle as anyone else should get. I wish that there was someway that all women who are living with HIV could get some kind of treatment to decrease the risk of spreading this to their baby. But before some women who don't even know that thay do have HIV, it is to late to help their unborn baby. I believe that if the mother does know that she is at risk of passing HIV on to their baby then the drug is comethng that should be strongly consider to help the life of their baby.

The human skeletal system is a bodily system that functions as a framework which gives proper shape and protection to both the external and internal parts of the human body. The human skeletal system has six major functions in human anatomy including functions of support, movement, protection, blood cell production, storage and endocrine regulation. Basically, joints are classified structurally and functionally. Structural classification categorizes the joint based on how it connects the bones in the human skeletal system. On the other hand, functional classification is determined by the function which the joint serves.

There are fibrous joints that are connected by dense connective tissue composed of chondrocytes, a type of cell which produces collagen and fibers. there is also Synovial joints. they are the most mobile and movable among the three structural classification of the joints. there are seven Synovial joints present in the human skeletal system. In addition to the structural classification of joints their are the functional classification. Note that all synarthrosis joints are not fibrous.

Multi-resistant skin bacteria spreading in bacteria
http://www.biologynews.net/archives/2010/09/08/multiresistant_skin_bacteria_spreading_in_hospitals.html

In this article there has been a skin bacteria that has developed to different antibiotics. These different types of antibiotics can cause intractable infections . The infections seem to be spreading in the hospital in Sweden. The skin bacteria is Coagulase-negative staphylococci is bacteria that belongs to the protective bacteria flora on the skin. Staphylococcus epidermis is a common cause of care-related infections. Some of these infections are are sometimes difficult to treat. Some antibiotics and hygiene routines do not prevent these strains from getting a foothold in hospital. This is a cause of urinary tract infections that young and middle-aged women contract outside the hospital environment.

My opinion about this article is that should try harder to make more antibiotics that can cure this infection. The hospitals should try to infect it around so that these contagious infections wont keep spreading around. There needs to be something to stop this infection or else it will spread through out other countries.

Why People that have used cocaine are in great risk of becoming addicted, even after being clean for some time. Drugs such as crack/cocaine are addictive because they "hijack" the brain's reward system. The "hijacking" is long-lived and sometimes relapses into abuse, when the person gets exposed to stimuli in surroundings that are associated with the drug.

With this reasearch I have just read, I am beginning to understand why people have hard times coping with quitting. I believe the best thing to do is just to stay drug free and not trying things just to get "high."

The current news in this article is saying that people that have ADHD will have better long-term benefits in the future. Some kids in school who take ADHD medication are known to improve the ability to think in dramatic measures. Everyone with a cancer illness that still lives and has ADHD might have better attention in the rest of their life. Methylphenidate ia said to improve the social skills of most people that have taken the drug for years.

I think that people who take this powerful drug will have better lives in the future. Not many people have problems with staying focused in school that is medical related, but those who are will need some type of drug to get through the day. Maybe if more kids took this drug we would have more time to stay focused and have more attention for the teachers. Adults will have a better focused at work and at home. I thinking that it will benefit young and old with any situation that they are in.

New Therapy Found for Lung and Skin Cancer, Based on Suicide Gene E

Scientists have found a new treatment for Lung Cancer the University of Granada. The new treatment involves the use of a suicide gene called Gene E. This gene can actually kill cancerous cells. The treatment can be used in vitro and also in vivo through the use of experimental animals. Further research is obviously required, but it could be used for new treatments in this type of pathology.

I feel like this is a huge step forward in the world of cancer treatment. If we continue reasearching and experimenting with Gene E, I believe we could get a lot closer to finding the cure for Cancer. This definitely affects me because I'm close to a few Cancer survivors and Cancer patients. One of those patients is a little 6 year old boy who was dianosed with a rare childhood cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma about 2 years ago. In the article "Sensor-plated dentures unlocks sound producing secrets of the tongue" is a article that everyone can value. This article explains how the tongue applys pressure to the teeth to produce sound. For example, when making a T sound you must apply pressure to the teeth to do this. Monitoring this without any technology is very difficult. But with the sensor-plated dentures out we can now monitor how this works. As technology excels in time we can now figure out how our truely body works.
In my opinion this article was kinda pointless. With all of the diseases out there with no cures, our scientist are busy make sensor-plated dentures to know how sound makes. This kinda pisses me off in a way that not only are they wasting time; but also wasting money. I really hope that they can invent something useful, something that our world can actually use. That is my opinion on this article.

Current Event #4 or 5

Scientists have developed a new therapy for the treatment of skin and lung cancer. This therapy, developed by at the University of Granada researchers, involves the use of a suicide coliphage-gene (gene E) that can induce death to cells transfected with it. Their studies have demonstrated that this technique is not only effective in vitro (using tumour cell cultures), but also in vivo through the use of experimental animals in which tumours were induced. This is an experimental technique that could be used in clinical tests in the future. This new therapy was also tested on the lung adenocarcinoma A549 line. Then, they studied how these genes affect cell proliferation -both in vitro and in vivo experiments- and their mechanism of action.

This new therapy for the finding of lung and skin cancer can be very good to people who have this disease. It sounds as if these experiments are going very well and i think that they will find something for it later in life. In the future when genetic therapies allow to improve the controlled expression of these genes in tumor cells and reduce the risks involved in their clinical use.

This article is talking about where a museum is opening up a exhibit the will have over 100 human specimens. At this exhibit people can come in and see human organs and just look inside a human body, and see how their life stills effect their bodies in the long run. The museum, continues to get grants to help the museum grow, so become more helpful to people. The bodies at Dennos Museum have been preserved in a process called plastination.

My opinion on this article is that it is a good opportunity to go in and look around to experience the whole human body. But i feel that it will be to more interest to someone who is planning on going into a medical field, or working with human bodies. In the article is said that it was recommended for kids 5 and up to go, but i don't think it is a place for children that little to be at. Have you ever wanted to get a first hand look at the human body, up close and personal? Well between April 10th and September 6th, people had the chance to do just that when the Bodies Human: Anatomy in Motion toured around the country.
Through a special process called plastination, the exhibit was able to feature over one-hundred specimens by preserving them. The exhibition displayed various emobodiments including full cadavers and organs. It also gave patrions the chance to see how different lifestyles can affect a human's health.

I think this is a great oppourtunity for people who want to become medical students, or for some who are just curious on the study of anatomy and physiology. Personally, I would find it fascinating to go to one of the museums the exhibtion was featured at and have a look around.

Microbes

This article is about how a professor discovered how important of a role microbes play. At Hagerstown Community College, Dr. David Karstaedt says that not all bacteria is harmful and that some bacteria keeps us alive. He says there is 10 times more bacteria inside/outside of us then there is cells inside of us. That does not mean that there isnt still bad and harmful bacteria. I think it is important to inform people about the many different types of bacteria. This can help by breaking down the idea that all bacteria is bad. Also I think this will help the education system by teaching more knowledge to future generations.

James Kruger, a neuroscientist at WSU stated this: "We know that the brain activity is linked to sleep, but we've never known how. This gives us a mechanism to link brain activity to sleep. This has not been done before." Further analysis of this is going to help scientists focus on finding ways to help further studies in the medical field, such as the treatment for new sleep aids and brain injuries.

They say that this shot is the cause of over 300 percent of an increase in narcolespy in the past 6 months. My opinion on this article is that the vaccine should not be required to get, that it should be up to the parent to give their child the vaccine. If the vaccine is causing all these problems with kids then I wouldnt give the vaccine to any child. Narcolespy is a serous condition that should be thought about when giving your child this vaccine.

Pre-Eclampsia Linked to Increased Heart Disease in Mother

Pre- eclampsia is an unexplained condition the symptoms are high pressure, swelling, vision problem, and headaches it can fatal to both the mother and baby it disappears after pregnancy. Even though it may disappear after pregnancy it may be an increased risk for developing heart disease after in life. It only affects five percent of pregnancies. One study with twenty five studies that included more than three million women was four times likely o develop high blood pressure and twice likely to have heart disease, stroke, and blood cots in future. There was nothing found between eclampsia and cancer. The 2nd study in Norway analyzed about 3500 women before getting pregnant to detect heart disease factors. Researchers then followed the participants to determine their risk for developing pre-eclampsia during pregnancy. Women who had previous heart disease risk factors seven times more likely to develop pre-eclampsia. Women who have experienced pre-eclampsia should be extra careful when it comes to adopting healthy lifestyle habits that could prevent heart disease. This study has positive sides because it is a better prevention of heart disease. Pre-eclampsia may be a predictor of heart disease the condition may help prevent the same dangers it predicts. The earlier you diagnose them the better.

The anatomy of your brain reflects your introspective capacity, or ability to self-judge the merits of your decisions, new research indicates. The study found that people with stronger reflective, or introspective, ability appear to have a higher volume of gray matter, the outer layer of the brain, in the part of their brains sitting behind their eyes. This region is called the anterior prefrontal cortex. There was a second anatomical connection as well. Fleming and his colleagues also found a connection between introspective ability and the integrity of the white matter that connects with the anterior prefrontal cortex. In other words, better white matter was also linked with a greater ability to think about thinking.

The studying of human brains is a very good idea because the more we study on them i think the more we will be educated and we will know whats going on up there. they studied how the bright colors make our eyes look and how we react to them. S o i think this is a very good idea.

Piper Cancer Center at Scottsdale Healthcare. This drug is called ASG-5ME. Daniel Von Hoff, MD said that this drug was designed to kill cancer cells. Apparently pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause in cancer deaths in the U.S., it is also very hard to treat. ASG-5ME is a drug with monoclonal antibody which is found in more than 90% of pancreatic cancer patients. This drug has a monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) which is to selectively kill cancer cells in pancreatic cancer. I personally think this is a fabulous thing because it says more than 36,000 people are expected to die in 2010 to pancreatic cancer alone; imagine all cancers together. I hope somewhere in the future that scientists fid a cure for all types of illnesses especially cancer, because radiation can damage people internally and physically; and thats whats used the most with cancer and you loose your hair from radiation and get very sick from it. So I think anything that would help that doesn't have worse side effects than radiation, that cures, is good.

In a cross- European study, it researched a total of 4,083 men and women who were in between the ages of 53 to 67. This research concluded that people who are over weight and around these ages and that smoke and are over have a higher chance of becoming deaf than a person who do not. As a result of this risk maybe people will second guess those fries and taking a puff off of that cigarette.
In my opinion this article was very interesting. With all of the diseases out there for being over weight and smoking, this is basically putting a cherry on top of the overweight-smoker sundae of todays society. In fact, this might give another reason for an overweight smoker to hit the tred mill and start loosing weight. In conclusion, with all the diseases out there for being overweight and being a smoker in the later years of your life; this is another reason to stay away from cigarettes and to stay healthy. One 15 year old boy ordered a laser pointer online, but not the same type of laser pointer we see being used during lectures and presentations. This boy bought the type of laser pointer that is able to, among other things, pop balloons and burn holes in his sister's shoes. With hopes of creating a "laser show," the boy pointed some lasers in the mirror. When some of the lasers hit his eyes, his vision immediately blurred. For fear of getting into trouble with his parents, he kept the vision problem a secret for two weeks. After two weeks of worsening vision, he finally told his parents, and they took him to a health care professional.

After about four months, the boy reports that his vision has improved. Even though his eyesight has improved since then, the teenage boy still suffers from some long-term eye damage. There is still some scarring in the boy's eyes. Having experience with accident-caused bad eyesight the past 5 years (Iridodialysis and a traumatic cataract) brings me to to say that having eye problems is extremely expensive, painful, and annoying. I think that the boy should have done more research before buying the laser, or at least avoided pointing it at his eyes by all costs.

One of the reasons it says you should donate is because your body can help find cures to new diseases we hear about everyday. There are no cost for donating your body. The steps to donating your body are first you have to call a donating company and talk about what your options are for donating. The second step is do not call a funeral home before you call the donating organization because it could cost the family but since the donation companies know the funeral homes then they will do it for free and provide transportation to and from the burial place. They also make the arrangements if your party decides to get cremated. Another step is the certificate of death will be issued to the family in about four days depending on where you live. Two certificates of death will be issued. Then finally a letter of donation will be sent to the party telling them what all research has been done on the deceased.

I think this is good because I feel that there are a lot of things in this world that can be worked out without surgery. When I was little I dignosed with a small cause of this but I just went through chiropractic treatments.

The number of obese people as increased over 2.7 million since 2007. More people these days die from obesity problems, that end up being strokes, heart diseases, and cancer. With the economy like it is, it is a higher cost, to be over weight. Due to the amount of antibiotics, and the doctors bills that can come from it. In 2008 medical cost were at 147$ billion, due to the increase in obesity.

My opinion on this article that is time for people to start getting healthier. That they need to cut back on all the sweets, and eat more healthy foods.Today people are so mean to other who are over weight, so that should make others have more motivation, to not want to be some one those people who get made fun of. Instead of eating when you are bored go out and run, or go to the gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle. No one should ever have to worry about them dying due to their weight, so they need to start now, to make it a more positive future.

Studys has proven that smoking can harm sperm. This could also damage the son if the mother smoked while she was pregant with the son. also the studies show that if you are trying to concive a child that you should "kick the habbit". it also showed that men who smoke heavly could experience fertilly problems. this is caused from teh protien levels droping dramatically.
I personally think that no one should smoke at all. smoking causes alot of other health problems not just difficulty conceving. also i think that if you are pregnant and you still smoke it should a form of child abuse. you mentally know that you are harming your child in very many ways. when you know the negative cause you are cause to your child then you should stop. but then i ask my self could this be a small form ofbirth controll? or is it not strong enought?

Smoking Could Harm Sperm, Study Finds

Two studys have been conducted pertaining to the harmfull effects that smoking cigarettes can have on sperm in fathers and in the sons of women who smoked during pregnancy. Dr. Mohamed E. Hammadeh, one of the researchers working on this study said this: "The results of the present study suggest a negative biological effect of smoking on spermatozoa DNA integrity."
Hammadeh, and his colleagues confirmed that smoking can cause negative effects to a male's fertilization capabilities, and women who have smoked while they were pregnant caused problems in their son's reproductive abilities. All of the researchers agree on the statement that if you are hoping to conceive, you should not smoke tobacco products.

My Opinion:
I think that this was a great study to perform because some people believe that smoking isn't as bad as people say for your health, or they do not think that its going to affect them. This article and study may show hopefull parents that smoking IS harmfull and they should not partake in it.

In the article "The Blessings and the Problems of Earplugs" it explains the advantages and disadvantages of ear plugs. In the article it tells us that earplugs can mute noises in a range of 45% - 65% of the noises in the surrounding area. With the use of earplugs used a lot in daily lives of humans, people might not know the dangers to them. If the ear plugs are not sanitized before use, some infections can start occuring. With infections occuring you will have to see a ear specialist to get them cleaned out and that can lead to come bills!

In my opinion this article contains some valuable information. Never would i know that ear plugs can lead to ear infections without reading this article. Not only does the article explain what happens in the ear with ear plugs in, it also provides tips on what to do if this occurs. It also includes a nice picture of a ear so you can get an idea on what is really being talked about. In conclusion, this article is very important to people like: swimmers, nascar drivers and fans, rock stars, and any other activity that someone would might need a ear plug! Those people might be thanking this article after all.

http://www.reuters.com/article/lifestyleMolt/idUSTRE67A2P920100811 This article is about how the University of Indiana received cadavers in order to do experiments. The cadavers were full of phenol. This was a volunteer program used in order to help the school's medical program. The volunteers were not compensated and did not earn any credits towards their degrees. I feel that this experiment is helpful and will aid in further research in anatomy. I'm not sure if i would be willing to do this experiment though. I will not say it is right but if the bodies donated were homeless than I am against it.

Fighting Bad Bacteria By Feeding On Them

This article is about the good bacteria that keeps us to survive . They also throw in the environment oxygen so that we can get energy from the food that we usually eat. There are some bad bacterias out there that can make your whole body miserable . Some examples of the debilitating disease is anthrax , botulism and gas gangrene. In our body we have specialized cells called macrophages and it moves around like an amoeba does which produces pseudopodia .

My opinion of this article is that we have to be careful and protect our bodies .If you don't protect your body you will get really sick .You have to try to not get any bacteria in your body such as the foods that you eat.Now a days you have to read the labels of the things that you eat.Since they have so many recalls on different things it makes you think what can you have and what can't you have. That's why when you go to the doctor they have to check your blood and how you are feeling.

ShaKera Smith - fat relocted

Your Own Fat, Relocated

This is the latest kind you recycling and this is when you take fat out of place that you think is too big and you put the fat In places you want to be bigger in like your breast so you don’t have to resort in breast implants. But the American Society of plastics Surgeons didn’t want these procedures to be performed because they fear the mammogram would be misread. Also since fat dies radiologist would not be able to figure out is the fat calcium deposits or breast cancer and too little injected fat survived being transplanted. But this year the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reversed there former position. They said that the fat being placed in the breast can be considered a safe method of augmentation. About the mammography is it could interfere with breast cancer detection but no evidence was found that suggests this interference. This only means for he physicians to proceed with caution. But there is a disadvantage it’s usually more expensive than implants and it takes a year to see how much fat survived, and breast volume can fluctuate with weight.
I think this is a good procedure and its better than breast implants because it’s yours and you don’t have all that fake stuff in your body. But breast implants is also better because there cheaper and you don’t have to worry about fat surviving. So I would recommend this procedure but I think you should go to the best physicians and not to just any one with good prices. This was a good article because it let people know they have options.

How does the neuron function in human anatomy?

Neurons are cells in the nervous system that are specialized in the transmission of electric signals between cells of the nervous system. They are different cells from other cells of the nervous system which are neuroglial cells. They have supporting functions to neurons like the cells astrocytes which help to form the blood-brain barrier. Damage of the nervous system can be very harmful and hard to reverse.

I found this article very confusing and I barely understood what exactly the were talking about. but the neurons sense pain and changes in temperature and that what makes the cells different from nuroglial cells.

This article is about fibers and plant cells . Fibers are found in both animal bodies and plant bodies , they are long, thin, flexible, tenacious strands of various different materials. In plants, fiber making cells are long, narrow, and tapering at both ends. Cotton plants has fiber in it , but its fibers are a cushioning and seed dispersal material. Cotton fibers also arise from the seed coat and can be long lint fibers or short fuzz fibers, cotton could come out to make clothes and other things too ! They are found in bark of the stalk.

This article help me out alot because i really didnt even think about the different types of fibers . Also i didnt no that fiber was found in "Marijuana", the fiber was to stay on the dried up leaves and flowers. My opinion is that fiber is a good thing because its very helpful to the plants and we need plants to survive , also its helpful to the animals !

I think that the new hardware that we have today will advance the information that we get in the future. People will find out other reasons why they get the disease, and they will be cured of illness.

Human-Animal Hybrid Stem Cell Controversy

There has been ongoing controversy on the subject of creating chimeras (animal-human hybrids) for the sake of scientific reserch. The debate on weather or not this is ethical has been going on for many years. Scientits argue that if they are able to create a successful human-animal hybrid, they can use it for medical and scientific research, futhering the advancements of stem-cell breakthroughs such as new treatments for the ill. There have been many surgries in the United States that have involved replacing a human heart valve with a pig or cow one.The practice of creating these chimeras is outlawed in many places, including Canda, but the experiments continue nonetheless.

My Opinion:
I am one-hundred percent against this topic. Creating human-animal hybrids is unnatural and somewhat playing God. These scientists could only have hypothesis on what these "chimeras" could really turn out to be. They have no idea how much of this creation could have human characteristcs.
On the other hand, I do see some positives to this. If it is advancing the breakthroughs of scientific and medical research, then I suppose that would be for a reasonable purpose. Nevertheless, I do not condone these expirements, nor do I agree with them.

my opinon on this i think the lady was wrong because acid is very strong and it could have possibly killed her. if more was thrown on her the burns would have been worse than what they were.

More People Obese Now Than in 2007
According to a CDC Special Report released Tuesday, the number of obese people in the US has increased by 2.4 million since the year 2007. In 2007, three states had obesity levels at 3% or more, compared to nine states with that percentage in 2010. No state has reached the goal of 15% set by the "Healthy People 2010" initiative. Medical costs linked to obesity has also increased since 2008. In 2008, the cost was $147 billion, it rises about $1,429 per person each year.
Obesity is a huge problem in the US. I didn't know the problem was so severe until I read this article. The costs related to obesity also surprised me. I had no idea that the costs were anything close to $1,429 per person. I think obesity takes a big toll on society as well. The only way we can fix this problem is if everybody puts forth their best effort.

In the article "Antioxidants aren't always good for you and can impair muscle function, study shows" is a article that explains that too much exposure of antioxidants. Scientists in K-State's Cardiorespiratory Excercise Labratory have been researching on how to improve oxygen delivery during physical activity with the exposure to antioxidants. The studies show that sometimes antioxidants can weaken muscle function. With lab studies of antioxidants being performed more and more, they have come to realize that antioxidants can sometimes back fire on you. Too much of a dosage of this medicine can in some cases make the problem worse. Antioxidants are a popular medicine that some people use in their daily lives. With problems being found in this drug, we might be seeing some recalls in it in the future.

In my opinion, this article is a very interesting and valuable for this time. Antioxidants is one of the most popular prescibed drugs in the world today and finding problems in it can really be valuable to someone who is using it. If problems keep occuring we might have a recall on this drug. If a recall was necessary many people will be in some trouble. I really hope that this problem stops soon and i hope scientists are finding a new drug that has the same effects as antioxidants; but making it not a antioxidant. Kinda like a coke to a pepsi. They are both different, but both do the same thing.

Air travelers now are required to go through a full-body scanner or a pat down as part of enhanced security measures added at Buffalo Niagara International Airport. A full-body scanner, which penetrates clothing to produce a detailed image of a traveler's body.

I think this full body scanner is a good idea because its much quicker and easier to make sure that the people are not carrying anything. Instead of getting a person to search and the person might miss something but the scanner wont since it searches your whole body. It will also make security more aware of whats going on around the airport.

http://www.naturalnews.com/02964_smoking_stress.html

This article talks about how smoking increases a persons stress levels, then actually calming the nerves over time. After someone has smoked for a long amount of time, they may cause themself to get sick and have to be hospitalized, which then will cause more stress to someone. Once someone has smoked for so long, they start wanting to smoke when their not, and this is only causing mental stress to someone. Studies where shown, when patients in a hospital where tested on their stress levels, seeing that smoking only made them worse when, all along they thought that it made it better.

My opinion on this article, is that there are other ways to handle your stress then by smoking. People get started smoking so young that it just comes something that they are used to doing and never really think about what it does to your body. I think that most people start smoking in their teens, because they think its so cool, because they see other people doing it. Personally I think that smoking is a gross habit, and does nothing but harm your body, and make you stink. So I would never smoke to relieve stress, there is someother way that you could do that.
